Another Birthday...Forever Young

While driving home from Savoy’s pad tonight, I heard Bob Dylan’s Forever young play, and as I listened I realized just how relevant that song was to me because I turn 62 today and it’s so surreal.

My wish for all of you is that you remain forever young no matter how old you are. Get excited about cool stuff like finding a fabulous Beatles ukulele songbook in the mail when you return home. Yes, I got my ukulele out although it was almost 2am and I have to work tomorrow.

Also, remember that the gift of time with those we love is more precious than anything. All the money in the world can’t buy time.. stay forever young! I love you all.

Check out what I consider is the "real" version of Forever Young:

My Birthday Weekend on the River

We spent another beautiful day at the river yesterday and this time I brought a chair, a music stand, a couple of song packets and iPad along with my ukulele and Savoy brought his flute. He did think it was odd that I insisted on my purple music stand even though I do know a bunch of songs.

Perhaps I subconsciously hoped other ukulele players and musicians would show up out of the blue or something and we’d have an epic jam. I played songs such as Groovin and incense and Peppermints, all you need is love, and a few others. Savoy played the flute. Then we swam in the clear cool water on a hot day... I stayed in the water for a long time again. Howie and Robin found us and we hung with them and swam some more and ate snacks until the sun began to go down.. it was fun hanging out with them. I realized I was way too late for the cool ukulele jam and potluck in Eugene last night. But that’s okay. There will be more uke jams.. and it was a gorgeous day.

My Birthday Wish

July 26, 2016, Trail Bridge (Central Oregon) Off the Grid Camping with my kids, grandson Jeremiah and Sydney Girl (Me, Megan, Melissa, Jeremy, Baby J, Sydney, and Stevie)

If wishes came true and I could have anything I want for my 62nd birthday, I’d wish for a gathering with my entire family. I'd want everyone to be there -- all of my kids, all of my grandkids, the significant others, the ex-significant others, and their significant others, my brother and his family, my sister and her wife and well...everyone! It would be fun and crazy for sure.  sometimes it would be like a reality TV show! But that's okay.

They’d come from all over and we’d meet in one place...I miss our big family gatherings so much. Nothing on this earth is more important than those we love.
